The Battle of Armageddon and the River of Blood

The battle of Armageddon is the final battle between God and "the armies of heaven" and Satan and the armies of earth (Is. 13:4-11; Rev. 19:18,19)

Where will it be fought?
In the Valley of Megiddo and surrounding mountains in northern Israel (Rev. 16:16).

When is it?
At the end of the coming 7 year tribulation

Battle Ground
The Valley of Megiddo covers 375 sq. miles and drops 400' in elevation between the foothills of Mt. Carmel in the west and the Jordan River in the east. Putting Bible clues together, we surmise that the army will number around 153,000,000 men and 153,000 horses. In that case, each soldier will have about 68 sq. feet of space.

Bloody Battle
Rev. 14:20 - "..blood came out of the winepress (i.e. God's wrath)..to the horse bridles by the space of 1,600 furlongs" (200 miles).
Is. 34:1-3 - "..the mountains shall be melted with their blood.."

The 200 Mile Bloody River
The combined, potential blood loss of men and horses all of whom are "killed by the sword," is 232 million gallons. The blood flowing from the mountains make them look like they are melting. While much of the blood will coagulate in the valley, some is likely to flow into the Harod River located in the Harod Valley just east of the Valley of Megiddo. The Harod River flows into the Jordan River which flows into the Dead Sea. When you add the length of the Valley of Megiddo (25 miles), to the Harod River (22 miles), to the Jordan River (103 miles), to the Dead Sea (50 miles), you have 200 miles. If blood from the battle runs into the Harod River, it could well bloody the water as far as the Dead Sea.

Birds
Rev. 19:17 - "...all the fowls that fly..come..to the supper of ..God ..that ye may eat the flesh of kings..captains..mighty men..horses..all the fowls were filled with their flesh."

Since Israel became an independent nation in 1948, it has become one of the bird capitols of the world. One half billion birds migrate twice annually over Israel, including 25 species of birds of prey, one of which feasts on the bodies of large mammals. A favorite rest stop for the birds is the Harod Spring. Possibly, they want to be first in line for the "early bird special!"

So, what is my point?
Clearly, the "coming of the Lord draweth nigh" (Jas. 5:8). Are you sure you will be taken up at the Rapture "to meet the Lord in the air" before the tribulation? If not, accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior NOW. Please go to the Sinner's Prayer on my website http://www.scriptureseries.com/.
God bless you.
